Co-Opera is running a round of general auditions for its upcoming productions.

Audition dates:

Friday 11 November 2022: 9.30am – 3pm
Saturday 12 November 2022: 9.30am – 5.20pm

(In the walled cloister close to the north of the cathedral)

Auditions will be 15 minutes long and will include a brief interview. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early for your audition. The audition panel will include artistic director, Stephanie Acraman.

Audition requirements:
You will be required to prepare two contrasting items to present.

Your audition must include:

  • One aria from the major operatic repertoire

AND Either

  • One other piece, from the art song, lieder or operatic aria repertoire in a different language to the major opera aria
  • OR One Music Theatre song, contrasting to the aria presented

NB – The official accompanist must be used for this audition, at no cost to you. The lower age limit for these auditions is 18 years, unless by discussion and instruction from the Artistic Director.

Please supply copies of your music appropriately presented, one for the piano accompanist, and one for the panellists. Also bring two copies of your current performance CV. The CV should include your headshot, voice type, current teacher (if applicable) and years studied, including previous teachers, institutions of study and all performance experience.

Soft copies of your music, CV, and the completed audition form (see below) must be sent to auditions@co-opera.com.au b5pm on Friday November 4.
