Giacomo Puccini’s glorious Tosca is the embodiment of verismo opera. Brimming with passion, jealousy, and the spirit of revolution, this new production literally drips with the blood, sweat, and tears of its characters. Considered by many musicians as Puccini’s finest work, it frames some of opera’s greatest moments, including the sublime aria Vissi d’Arte.
The new touring production, directed by Brock Roberts, will feature seven singers accompanied onstage by Josh van Konkelenberg at the organ, bringing the orchestral colours of the original to life as part of the ecclesiastic set. Truly, this is a production that will make your spirit and your senses soar.
